11. The Poem of Odin's Ravens (Hrafnagaldr Óðins) |

1. El Padre de todo es poderoso; los Alfios tienen juicio; los
Vanios son sabios ; las nornas indican sobre sus escudos la marcha del
tiempo; las gigantas paren; los hombres sufren; los Thursars suspiran ;
las Valkirias alientan despues de las batallas. |
1. The Father of all is powerful, the
Alfios have judgement, the Vanias are wise, the Norns on their shields
indicate the march of time, the giants stand, men suffer; the Thursars
sigh; the Valkyries breath after battle. |

| 2. Los Asios tienen tristes presentimientos; demonios artificiosos los turban por medio de runas mágicas. Urda es la encargada de la custodia de Odreyer, y de protegerle enérgicamente contra la mas grande muchedumbre. |
2. The Æsir hold with gloomy forebodings, artificial demons
the turban by magical runes. Urda is responsible for
the custody of Odreyer, and actively protect against larger crowd. |

3. Por eso Ungen (1) apresura sus investigaciones en el cielo;
los dioses tienen aprension, si tarda mucho. Thrain sueña desgracias, y
Dains teme infortunios todavía ocultos. |
So Anointing (1) rush their research in the sky, the gods have apprehension, if it takes a lot. Thrain misfortunes dreams and fears misfortune Dains still hidden | ||

4. Las fuerzas de los enanos quedan desfallecidas ; los mundos
vacilan sobre los hijos de Ginnung. Alsvider esparce sobre ellos el
rocío con frecuencia desde lo alto, y recoge lo que ha caido. |
6. The Dwarf forces are flagging, the worlds waver on the
children of Ginnung. Alsvider spread about them often dew from above,
and collect what has fallen. |

5. Never earth nor the sun are stopped, the cunning cannot
prevent the flow of air. The wisdom of man is hidden in the clear well
of Mimer. Do I understand? |

6. Descendida del fresno Yggdrasel, la diosa mora con curiosidad
en los valles. Estos valles dan el nombre de Iduna á la mas joven de las
hijas de Ivald, de la raza de los Alfios. |

7. La diosa se afligia de no residir ya en el fresno; afligíase
aun mas de hallarse entre los descendientes de Noerve, acostumbrada como
estaba á mas bellas mansiones. |
7. The goddess was distressed and no resident in the ash tree
was afflicted more to be among the descendants of Noerve, accustomed as
she was to more beautiful mansions. |

8. Viendo los héroes que Nanna (2) sentía tristeza en los caminos de la
tierra, la dieron una figura de lobo ; ella se dejó revestir, cambió de humor,
de color, y se chanceó con astucia.
(2) Todas estas denominaciones parece que aluden á la sabiduría,
cayo triste destino en este mando semeja ser el asunto de este poema. |
8. The heroes saw how Nanna (2) sorrowed,
in the customs of the land, gave the shape of a wolf, changed her coat,
changed in mood, color, and spoke with cunning. (1) The Raven of Odin. (2) All of these names seems to allude to the wisdom, fell sad fate in this command's like to be the subject of this poem. |

del oro lo que sabia sobre todos los mundos. Brage y Lopter sirvieron de

10. Montaron sobre lobos, en el patio de Heimer , y cantaron la
evocacion. Odin la escuchó desde Hlidskialf, é invitó álos hombres á
separarse del camino. |
10. Mounted on wolves in the courtyard of Heimer, and sang the evocation. Odin heard from Hlidskialf, Alos and invited men to be separated from the road. | ||

11. El sabio preguntó á Iduna , que sirve el hidromiel á los
descendientes de los dioses y á su compañía, si sabia el orígen, la edad
y el fin del cielo , de la tierra y del abismo. |
The sage asked to Iduna, which serves the mead to the descendants of the gods and his company, if he knew the origin, age and the end of heaven, earth and the abyss. | ||

12. Ella no habló ; no podia responder una palabra á los que la escuchaban , ni articular un sonido. Las lágrimas cayeron de los escudos de su cabeza (1) y mojaron sus mejillas. |

13. Como Elivoger, que viene del Oriente, llegó con fuerza la
varita del gigante que toca á media noche á todos los pueblos de la
magnífica Midgord. |

14. Cesan entonces los rumores, las manos caen, el dios blanco se adormece, la embriaguez del sueño interrumpe la alegría de los gigantes, las meditaciones del espíritu y el vigilante odio. |

19. A una señal de Odin, toda la compañía celeste se sentó en
los bancos y comió de Saehrimner. Skoegula sacaba con decencia de la
cuba de Hnikar y servia el hidromiel en las copas de la memoria.

20. Los dioses dirigieron en la mesa muchas
preguntas á Heimdal, y las Asianas á Loke, á fin de saber si la jóven habia
hecho predicciones ó proferido sabias sentencias. Así se pasó el tiempo hasta la
llegada de las tinieblas.

20. The gods went to the table many questions to
Heimdal, and Loke clung to, in order to know whether the young man had made
predictions or
statements uttered wise. Thus passed the time until the arrival of darkness.

21. Los mensajeros manifestaron que no habian salido bien de su comision, y que sin duda seria difícil hallar medio de obtener una respuesta de la jóven. |

to Alfie setentrional limit of the earth, and under the last root of the
world. |

26. Los dioses
despertaron; la púrpura de los Alfios salió de las tinieblas; la noche huyó al
Norte, hácia Niflhem. El hijo de Ulfrun (1), guardian de la trompa de
Himmingborg, pasó el Baefroest. (4) La noche. |
26. The gods awoke, the purple of the
Alfios out of darkness, the night he fled north to Niflhem. The son of
Ulfrun (1), guardian of the eustachian Himmingborg, spent Baefroest
(4) The night.
